Pictured are Keven Mattle and Isabelle Schaer from Switzerland who visited South Africa for three months recently.  They got the opportunity to fish with the Midas Team in the Durban Harbour and had an awesome time.  Inset: Isabelle with a Ribbon Fish (Walla Walla).

Sea conditions have settled down recently and surf anglers are targeting Shad.  Many of these fish caught are undersized and Township Hyper customers have reported that anglers are respecting minimum sizes and bag limits.  A few larger Shad are being caught at Amanzimtoti and Winkle High Rocks in the early mornings.

Fishermen aiming at bigger fish are still having good sport with sharks and skates along the South Coast at Green Point and Scottburgh.  Paddle-Ski and Jet-Ski fishermen are having a bumper Snoek season, but cannot find the Couta.  Ski-Boat anglers are catching good quality bottom fish but are yearning for the Couta shoals to arrive.  I anticipate they will come through just in time for the Durban Ski-Boat Club Festival Competition taking place on 25th and 26th April.

Tuesday will be cool and the winds will alternate SW to NE almost daily.  Thursday will be hot and Friday and Saturday will be cool again.  Fishing conditions are looking favourable for the weekend.
